When it comes to planning your honeymoon it is a good idea to know where to go & when. So whether your wedding is in January or July, here are some of the hottest honeymoon destinations throughout the year.

January

Summer is in full swing in locations such as Australia or New Zealand. For sun-seekers try the Caribbean, South Africa, Mexico or Sri Lanka.

If you dare to be different why not have a skiing trip in the Moroccan Mountains or on the picturesque slopes of the Canadian Rockies.

Places best avoided though are Malaysia & Fiji as it is cyclone season in both these countries.

February

The Maldives is at its most perfect during this month as are the Middle Eastern meccas of Dubai, Oman & Abu Dhabi. Sun seekers should look to the Cook Islands, Goa, Costa Rica & Zanzibar.

For those who something different why not book a big game safari in South Africa, Kenya or Tanzania?

Avoid Mauritius & the Seychelles as it is rainy season here.

March

Catch the last remnants of the European snow falls with a honeymoon in the Alps, Pyrenees or Austria. Sun seekers should head to South Australia or French Polynesia.

Dare to be different with an open top Cadillac tour along the west coast from San Francisco to Las Vegas & finally San Diego.
Avoid the tropical wet season in Brazil & Indonesia.

April

This a great month to experience the wonders of Egypt before the intense summer heats makes it too uncomfortable. Sun seekers should head to Malaysia, Thailand or Florida.

A Cuban honeymoon offers a diverse experience to those who want something different - such as the historical city of Havana, the stunning beaches & one of the world’s biggest coral reefs.

Consider the exclusive island resort of Cayo Coco as a base.
It is best to avoid safaris this month as it is the rainy season in Kenya & Tanzania.

May

The islands of Fiji are stunning this month & the temperatures are still high. For more sun try The Seychelles, California & southern Europe.

If you want something different then head into South America & Ecuador where you can stay in an eco-lodge on the edge of the Amazon rainforest.

Avoid The Maldives, Sri Lanka & Thailand as the weather is wet & unsettled at this time of year.

June

The perfect time of year to head in to southern Europe as the weather is warm. Sun seekers should look at the American East coast, Canada & Madagascar.

For something different try a trek along the Inca trail to the ancient city of Machu Picchu in Peru.

Best to avoid Goa as it is monsoon season & the Maldives can still be wet & windy too.

July

A great time to visit the Seychelles where they is still more than seven hours of sunshine a day & the temperatures are hot but not uncomfortably so. Sun seekers should head to Europe, Malaysia & Bali.

For a different honeymoon trip explore the Russian city of St Petersburg, dubbed the Venice of the north.

August

Avoid Europe as it can be busy, as an alternative head to Namibia & Bostwana in Africa where it is the dry season & game viewing is at its best. For sun seekers, the UK, Seychelles & Equador are great destinations.

Dare to be different with an Alaskan adventure where you can try glacier hiking, kayaking or even grizzly bear spotting!
The high temperatures in Northern Africa & Dubai make them places to avoid.

September

For some stunning scenery, surf-friendly beaches & luxury resorts you can’t beat the Hawaiian islands. Sun seekers should head to Morocco & Chile.

For something different head to the Chinese resort of Sanya which has beaches to rival those of any paradise destination.
Avoid Hong Kong as it is typhoon season & the Caribbean will be on hurricane alert.

October

This is a great time to explore Mexico which offers everything from ancient Mayan ruins to sandy beaches. Sun seekers should head to South Australia, Goa & Chile.

For something different head to Madagascar & take a tour around its forests, lakes & rice terraces.

Best to avoid most of Europe, as the temperatures are too cold & also the British-Virgin Islands as they are windy at this time of year.

November

Temperatures in Mauritius are still high & the likelihood of cyclones are still some time off. The Cook Islands & New Zealand are perfect for sun seekers.

For something different visit India but avoid the mass resort of Goa instead opt for ancient wonders of Agra, the lush lagoons & beaches of Kerala & the bustling cities of Rajasthan.

Best avoided are Southern Thailand, Malaysia & the Seychelles where it is the rainy season.

December

The warm temperatures of the Caribbean make them a popular choice for honeymooners at this time of year. For sun seekers there is the Maldives, Sri Lanka & Goa.

Dare to be different with a trip to Vietnam which is an amaze, diverse country which is still relatively untouched by tourism. A two week trip will give you ample time to sample the jungles, ancient cities & beautiful beaches.

Avoid Malaysia & the Seychelles as it is the rainy season & it is also peak season in Australia.
