A baby always bring joy to a family. Parents prepare for the baby’s coming months before the schedule of delivery.
Being pregnant is nine months of tedious caring for the baby’s health. But after the baby is born, taking care of the baby will prove to be more tedious. It is therefore important and wise to prepare for a baby’s coming. It is after all a major responsibility.

The special bonding of a mother and a baby usually starts in breastfeeding. Breastfeeding creates special contact with the baby. The mother should take care to always have enough milk in her breasts. She should drink lots of water daily to avoid dehydration and headaches. She should also take supplements to help her lactate.
Mothers should stay healthy all the time besides the difficulties of tending to the baby. Always find time to rest and relax, and exercise regularly.
Mothers should consider baby accessories that will greatly help them, like baby carriers, car seats, cribs, strollers, blankets and toys.
Baby carriers help mobilize a baby even without carrying them in your arms. There are front carriers, back pack carriers, soft back carriers and framed back carriers. Choose one that is comfortable for you. According to doctors, front carriers create a special bond for the babies and the parents, therefore more advisable.
Car seats are used to avoid car accidents. It keeps babies secure and in place all the time. Keep the baby in the backseat instead of beside the driver.
A crib is the baby’s bed. Make sure to get one that is very comfortable. There are three kinds of baby cribs: canopy crib, standard crib and convertible crib. Canopy crib offers a classic touch. This has four large posts and metal frames on the top. Convertible crib can be converted to toddler bed. This is an expensive kind of crib. Standard crib has two types: double drop and single drop sides. Double drop side is convenient but single drop side is stable.
Strollers help the baby walk and develop his sense of balance. Parents should choose a comfortable stroller for the baby. A child is irritated easily with rough linings or not so soft pillows.
Comfortable and lightweight blankets help babies get a good night sleep. Toys keep babies occupied. These should be fit for the baby’s age. And it is also good to sing them children’s songs when putting them to sleep.
To avoid insect bites, it is best to make them wear clothes that extend to their wrists and ankles. This is considering the climate is not so warm. Otherwise, apply insect repellants for babies. These are especially formulated their delicate skins.
Aside from the material things needed, it is also important to create a healthy environment for the baby. Keep rooms clean all the time. Babies have yet undeveloped immune systems that make them more prone to sickness. Even just a minor flu is very discomforting for a tender child.
If you have other kids at home, it is also important to assure them that the baby will not always be the center of attention. And if possible, allow them to take certain responsibilities also in taking care of the baby. If you have pets at home, like a dog, make sure they get to know the baby to avoid unwanted accidents.
