You should be available to help put together the invitations, wedding favors, centerpieces & anything else the bride requires help with.
You will be responsible for organizing & throwing bridal showers & bachelorette parties. If the couple decides they want a combined party then you should work with the best man to organize it.
You will be in charge of noting down who gave which gift at the bridal parties. It is also your responsibility to send out the thank cards.
You will be in charge of the grooms ring during the wedding ceremony. The best man is responsible for the brides ring.
You will be required, along with the best man, to be witnesses to the marriage, unless you are related to the bride or groom.
Tradition requires the maid of honor & best man dance together at the reception.
