Regardless of the product you are trying to market DRTV is a method that will be successful. Of course, there are some products that are going to benefit more than others and it's important to evaluate how profitable a DRTV campaign will be for your product before entering a campaign. The best products for a DRTV campaign are products that appeal to the masses. Also, products that can easily be demonstrated quickly and easily are the best. For example, in a store a specialized pair of scissors will appear to be like every other pair of scissors for sale. However, when demonstrated through DRTV viewers are able to see what makes the scissors special. Any product that looks like an everyday product when packaged may easily be looked over. Yet, when demonstrated on television the novelty or specialization of the product can be demonstrated. If your product fits this profile then DRTV is a great and affordable way to market to the masses.

Other products that benefit from DRTV marketing include any product that improves or makes life easier. People are always interested in buying the newest product on the market that will save them time, help them get in shape, or somehow improve their quality of life. Products that fit into these categories that are beneficial for DRTV marketing include electronics, personal care products, house wares, exercise equipment, and appliances for the home.

DRTV works really well for products with mass appeal. The reason why is because DRTV markets to the masses. When a product that appears to the masses is marketed to the masses then there will certainly be plenty of sales! The goal of DRTV is to sell large numbers of products at affordable prices and pocket the difference. The best way to get started is to have a basic item that you can sell to the masses and then offer options that can upscale the product or make it more specific for certain niches. That's a way to appeal to the masses and offer "niche" like products at the same time.
