Basically, choose an apartment which is in close proximity to your office and if you have a family, your kids' school. It is also better to choose Bangkok apartments which have stores like grocery store, medical store and a mini-market in the locality for you to run to for emergency purchases.
Keep your budget in mind
Transportation should be convenient from the locality of the apartment you choose. This means that there should buses that ply to your locality so that you can easily catch them to leave to the office or your kids to school. Moreover, if you have a car, you should have parking space provisions as it is not safe leaving cars out in the night.
Don't forget to keep your budget in mind when looking for Bangkok apartments. You have to have a fixed amount you can afford to pay as rent deposit and work out a sum of money you will be able to pay every month as rent towards the apartment rent. Don't attempt renting apartments you can't afford as you just can risk getting kicked out of the apartment for not paying rent for a few months.
