It sounds foolish to tempt fate when it comes to our personal health and safety, but that’s exactly what many of us do, each and every time we travel without travel insurance. You just never know what can happen at anytime while you are on holiday, and one of the best ways that you can thwart a potential travel nightmare is by purchasing travel insurance.

While travel insurance is no miracle worker, it can be your best protection against unforeseen accidents and problems that travelers commonly face while on holiday. Although the chances of you having a normal trip are stacked in your favor, it’s still a wise decision to plan for the unexpected.

What will happen if I don’t have travel insurance?

Plenty of travelers opt to skip on insurance protection when they travel. Many give every reason known to man to explain why they don’t purchase it. Reasons such as:

• It’s too expensive
• I don’t have time to find any
• I won’t be gone very long
• I don’t know where to look

Unfortunately, there’s an ugly side to not having travel insurance that is very real and can not be erased by excuses. It’s called reality and often includes:

• Expensive medical bills-Being hospitalized and seeking medical treatment can be very expensive and in many circumstances if you can’t pay for it, you won’t be treated. Purchasing medical insurance will ensure that you receive the best care possible, even if you don’t have the money to pay for it.

• Losing valuable documents and other personal items-Becoming a victim of theft or misplacing your personal property can leave you in a real bind or stranded when you are traveling. Having personal property insurance will allow you to replace your possessions.

• Having your trip delayed or altogether canceled- Flight delays, cruise postponements, and other delays can add up to big fees, lost deposits, and wasted time and energy. Trip delay and cancellation insurance can help you get your money back and save you the run around.

• Missing out altogether- If your transport is delayed or cancelled, it may mean missing out completely on that tour, sporting event or even wedding that was the whole purpose of your trip.

Don’t find out the hard way just how bad traveling without insurance can be. Get cover today.
