A knack for business and economy, coupled with a keen eye for beauty is essential if you want to be a fashion buyer. A fashion buyer is basically in charge of purchasing items for a certain fashion category. Because a fashion buyer has a multitude of other important tasks, it is important to be adaptable and to be skilled in multi-tasking.
It is also important to have a head for organization, have good leadership and time management skills. Fashion buyers usually have a team of people that they work with and you must be able to motivate your team and manage the work that they do. It is essential for you to be successful in collaborating with your team members are this will impact heavily on your effectiveness as a manager.
