If Gucci made speakers instead of designer clothes, he might have produced Vivid Audio's G2 Giya, perhaps the most polarizing design of the high end sound systems group. The first thing that most people notice about the Vivid G1 Giya speaker, besides its power packed performance is its shape. From the front, it resembles a bowling pin, and from the side either an elf's cap or a dollop of frosting. It's whimsical and elegant, just what so many of the massive speakers in its rarefied price range are not. But the Giya's look is not for show. It's an outward sign of some innovative engineering. The G1 Giya is a clean-sheet design, a speaker whose deep technology aims at reproducing what's fed to it with absolute fidelity. The one-piece, curved enclosure, which has tuned ports on either side, is made of a vacuum-infused fibre composite reinforced with carbon fibre, much like a race car or speedboat. You get a choice of six metallic auto-paint finishes, including the favourite of most consumers, Borollo Red. As a part of a whole series which also include the central and surround speakers and the sub-woofer, this front speaker packs in all the punch for the sound that would be of the stature every discerning audiophile would prefer. The body comes with a special piano lacquer finish, with natural wooden veneers beneath pointing out to the breed of equipment, and the degree of craftsmanship involved. As a pack, it could well become the central focus of attention in any music room. Striking and reeking of high-end audio engineering, these acoustic speakers have managed to garner attention for their inherent qualities and for the discerning modern audiophile; it would be the sort of equipment they generally would seek out from the crowd.
In a time when futuristic designs seem to be making the mark even in the high-end audio devices segment, the Vivid G1 Giya leaves a prominent and permanent mark. From the physical dynamics and technical prowess point of view, the G1 Giya would be ideal for live karaoke sessions or rather small crowd gatherings. It might suit a mini-theatre on private yachts or AV rooms as well, with all the different colour options to suit, match and contrast the surrounding environment. It utilizes dual 12-inch subwoofers and aluminium tweeters, midrange drivers to crank out the jams. Each 154-pound, 5.58-foot tower can handle frequencies from 23Hz to 44kHz and a staggering 800-watts of pure acoustic power.
The Giya's purpose-built drivers work along with the cabinet. The 1" dome tweeter and 2" dome midrange are both patented, and among their features are radially polarized neodymium magnets that maximize the flux to offer the strength of magnetism of the voice coil while offering a low stray magnetic field. This makes them ideal to be situated near display devices without any issues. Also buried within the Giya are ten fiberglass-reinforced grids placed laterally every six inches or so to brace the cabinet.

Giya is a speaker abundant with technological answers to questions about sound reproduction. Using custom components which are mostly hidden away and building each unit in-house, finishing each unit with a hand polish to enhance the deep lustre and shine of the chosen colour, Vivid has ensured a visually appealing listening experience that will not be forgotten.
