Flash Patterns in an LED Lightbar and the Benefits

Flash patterns provide some excellent benefits as far as getting the attention of those on the road are concerned. Modern emergency lights come with either built in flash patterns or external flashers which can help you in controlling the patterns and sequences. The whole idea behind flash patterns is to give the light a shock value, whose constant flickering or rapid flashing can get everyone's attention in a way that even the brightest of steady light beams cannot manage. With LED emergency lights designed with individual LED modules, each with arrays of LEDs, managing different flash patterns and sequences is not really a tough ask. 3mm, 5mm or 10mm LEDs come with optic lenses that can help harness the directional light beams. An LED lightbar can have as many as 50 different flash patterns and sequences.

You can go for a 4-outlet, 4-channel LED flasher if required that is specifically designed to enable flashing in super bright LED light heads. The lighting output comes from 60 Watts allocated to each channel with current up to 5 Amperes in some cases. Light bars may also have built-in solid state electronics to take care of the flashing without the need of an external flasher. Another interesting aspect that comes into play in an LED lightbar is the use of LED modules with split LED segments that have multiple colours. Dual coloured segments can offer more permutations and combinations as far as flashing patterns and sequences are concerned.

An LED lightbar can allow you to operate the front bar, the rear bar, the side and corner light heads independently. It is also possible to turn on all bar operation control for synchronized flashing. The flash patterns include synchronized and simultaneous flashing, random blinking, rapid blinking, slow and steady blinking or alternate flashes from individual light heads. An interesting part of the kit is the synchronization harness which is provided to connect various light heads and make them flash in sync with each other. You will also be able to benefit from patterns such as double and triple flashes and quad bursts and mega flashes that produce the greatest lighting output. It is incredible to note that these flash patterns can be controlled easily especially when you want only some LED modules or strobe heads to flash in one way and others in a totally different way.

Apart from their use in LED lightbar, flash patterns are also used by standalone LED strobes which are installed in headlights, brake lights, tail lights and turn lights. Traffic advisor panels which flash arrow signs will also prove to be more effective with the help of flashing. The flashing rates can also be controlled and you can have flashes at a rate of more than 100 per minute. Scan Lock mechanism is provided in advanced, full length light bars. This makes it easy to scan the pattern choices and select and lock the one ideal for the situation. It is also possible with non-volatile memory to retrieve information about previously used patterns.
