Emergency LED lightbars can provide excellent value for money and more importantly come extremely handy during critical situations where you can find use for every single feature that you can get your hands on. To start with, you will have to analyse the different types of light heads which usually come with a full-fledged 60 inch light bar. It has corner LED strobes, some of which have gyratory capabilities as well. The light bars also have 4 or 8 LED modules with varying number of light emitting diodes. There are work lights, driver side takedown lights, driver side alley lights and the same on the passenger side too. There are flashing alley lights available with light bars as well along with slim traffic directionals or arrow sticks which can help in redirecting traffic in chaotic areas.

It is incredible to note the variety that comes with emergency LED lightbars and the different types of light heads that are seen mounted on them. Some extra-long light bars mounted on the roofs of vehicles also have strobes arranged in staggered fashion for greater visibility. Another exciting feature that adds strength to the lighting offered by the emergency light bars is built in flashing capability. Almost every light bar comes with dozen or more flash patterns and sequences. External flashers are used in some cases while built in solid state electronics will take care of the flashing in other scenarios. The flash patterns such as right and left alternate flashes, centre and outer quad flashes, right and left arrow flashes, quad flashes and wig-wag flashes are some of the different options available to enhance the effectiveness of the lighting.

LED lightbars come with convex crystal lenses, parabolic deflectors or other optical elements such as diamond mirrors to make the most of the beams from the LEDs. The lenses and deflectors help in varying the characteristics of the beam, altering the beam angle and its penetration. It is even possible to control the beam temperature which is important considering that the efficiency of LEDs depends on the temperature. For the same reason, light bars make use of anodized aluminium chassis which is excellent when it comes to dissipating heat generated when the lights stay turned on for a long time. LEDs can be used for prolonged hours, which is ideal for emergency vehicles used by fire fighters and rescue parties.

You will find full function switch boxes, controllers or switch panels along with LED lightbars. An effective control centre is extremely important when there are so many different functions and light heads on offer. A variety of switches are used for different functions. There are push button switches, slide position switches and rotary switches along with the conventional cigar plug for turning the power supply on or off. The slide position switches are particularly useful for altering the flash patterns with ease. The kit also includes pigtail connectors, interconnect wires, cables and mounting clamps. The light bars also come with a manufacturers' warranty.
