It is unfortunate that these days we live in a world of cons and scams. Even more unfortunate that these cons and scams cause many Americans to veer away from doing positive things that they would otherwise normally do. One thing that people seem to be becoming more and more wary of is donating cars. Not quite sure of what happens with their vehicle when they make the decision to donate it, many people have made the decision to keep cars that they would otherwise donate. It is because of this that many charities nation wide are missing out on much needed funds that they were used to getting throughout the past years! With that said, I would like to personally explain what happens from the day that a vehicle is donated.
Step #1: Car Donation Acquisition: The first step for a vehicle donation company once a vehicle is donated is to acquire the vehicle. In most cases, because of the advent of the internet, donated cars are miles and miles away. Therefore, when a vehicle is donated, the car donation company must hire a tow company to bring the car to it's destination.

Step #2: Car Donation Evaluation: Once a automobile donation makes it's way to the automobile donation companies lot, an evaluation takes place. This evaluation is to decide how much cash the vehicle may be worth. It also helps the automobile donation company decide who they may be able to sell the vehicle to. For instance if a vehicle is a junk vehicle, in most cases, after evaluation, it will be sold to a junk yard!
Step #3: Selling The Donated Car: After the evaluation, it is time to sell the vehicle. If the automobile is a junk automobile, in most cases it will be sold to a junk car yard for the value of the parts and scrap metal it consists of. However, if a donated car is in good running condition, it will make it to an auction where multiple buyers will have the opportunity to bid on the automobile!
Step #4: Deducting Expenses: As you can probably tell from the above, there are quite a few expenses associated with automobile donations as well. Therefore, when funds are received from the sale of a donated vehicle, it is then the job of the vehicle donation company to pay the expenses associated with the vehicle such as towing, auction and employment costs.
Step #5: The Cash Donation Is Made: Finally, after all expenses are deducted it is time for the donation to be made to the charity or church chosen by the consumer that made the donation. This means that any funds left over after expenses will go to the charity of your choice if you make the decision to donate your vehicle to charity!
As you can see, there is a lot that goes into a donated automobile. However, it is this process that generates millions of dollars every year for charities nation wide. With that said, it is important to remember that your junk car or simply the automobile that you no longer want can provide much needed funds to the charity of your choice of you donate it!
