Nowadays young specialists, who hold degrees in the sphere of art, are graduated as well as the Lithuanian Academy of Arts but also a number of secondary schools of higher and high education and colleges.It should be emphasized, that contemporary art is similar to the classical art. Here some attention should be devoted to people,engaged in drawing and painting, who have finished their studies at art institutions.
Not so long ago an interesting concept of "auteur painting" has developed. It's also known as the "not-for-everybody art". It is explained that, the new trends reached further than the average expert. Such terms as expressionism, abstractionism and an infinite number of their combinations are something new. In comparison to the 80-90s of the past century, when it was possible to identify the main trend like realism, where thw main was the abstract art, impressionism, nowadays it is almost impossible to determine definitive terms related to creative styles, let alone the idea of acquiring all the formulations of trends in fine art.
Quite often the manner of fine art's performance is identified, while there's a category of specialists, who concider to be those, who research and investigates art. The works are presented at commercial markets and auctions. Despite this, every year all academic art institutions invite new students for learning to paint. The rhetorical question without the answer is: where they find jobs and what is their further fate ? there is one optimistic fact that in the present-day chaos of art the youths still naive believe in talent succeed in getting through.
It has been investigated, that the great ammount of people, graduating from higher art institutions, can paint quite well, but only a few percent of people, who choose their unique auteur style.

Speaking about the Lithuanian art history and traditions, even a most optimistic Lithuanian citizen will be convinced in dull paintings, characterizing the nation's fine art. In most cases, this is because Lithuania has a small number of sunny days and artists cannot depict objects in proper lighting, because they do not see the sun. Nowadays it is impossible for artists to devote months or even years to merely one painting, as it used to be the norm in Kramskoy's, Repin's and Levitan's times.Contemporary fine artists prefer the simpler and more understandable art means to develop an art topic,which require not so much time and efforts.
In the majority of Lithuanian galleries the visitor often cannot understand the reason to pay a lot of money for the canvas where strange objects are depicted. Sometimes the canvas itself is worth more than the painting on it. However, if a visitor has any questions about the paintings, a person in the gallery will give a full information . It should be pointed out that, when walking along Pilies Street at the heart of Vilnius' Old Town, numerous paintings by local fine artists with recognisible objects and at reasonable prices can be seen. To compare these two themes - galleries and street fine art, one may be interested whether visitors have any taste to buy those canvases from galleries with an unidentifiable plot for unreasonable money, plain and affordable paintings from street artists?
The above-mentioned definition "not-for-everybody art" is successfully developed in the contemporary art world,however, almost no one will admit himself well-informed in art trends. Anyway, a positive thing is that people are still willing to understand the art that is unknown and sometimes alien to them.
