Traditional choices for wedding shoes of pristine white, warm ivory or metallic silver, gold or bronze are not the only option today. Of course, you can choose to have your shoes dyed in a colour to match or tone with, the rest of your outfit and adjusted to be seen in either daylight or when artificially lit. Or you could have a look at this season's dazzling display of rainbow choices just launched by some of the world's cutting edge shoe designers.
The choice is surprising: jewelled slip-on mules with metallic heels, sandals dripping with crystal decorations for a beach wedding, vintage wrap-around styles with a pearlised leather finish and even strappy gold lattice gladiator sandals which crisscross the instep, up to the ankle. There are vivid blues, enlivening reds, plushy purples as well as gentler, pearlier, tones.

Pedro Garcia's Swarovski Avril peep-toe heels come in the palest of pink on-trend 'nude' colour. These leg-lengtheners are the beautiful complement to a romantic, fairytale gown. Garcia's shiny scarlet Leslie Satin Pumps have a 100mm heel with a square toe, popular this spring. His 'Kelly' satin peep toe pump comes in a lovely vibrant, clear blue.
Imaginative innovator and shoe-wizard, Christian Louboutin, offers his new Very Prive Pumps. These are not pumps as they used to be known! Aruna Seth has some delicious choices. Her Farfalla Tiffany Blue platform heel (110mm) is a peep-toe in an exquisite shade of light blue, trimmed with a gorgeous crystal butterfly. If you're looking for something a little wilder, you might like her Dita Leopard calf hair Wedge with a 110mm heel or her gloriously cosy pale grey apres ski boots, trimmed in white fur and crystal.
