Birmingham is home to numerous museums including the largest Birmingham Museum of Art, which is also the biggest municipal art museum in the Southeast. Birmingham's history museums include the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute which is home to an emotionally-charged and detailed narrative exhibit putting the city's history into the context of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement.
