Groomsman Gifts | What Are the Best Groomsmen Gifts?

So tell me, what can be sweeter than the sound of your own name? Let me tell you a secret; it’s the look of their name on their gadgets and personal items. (Women should know this with how men want to leave kiss marks on their bare necks.) I’ve always known this that when I was asked what I have given best so far, I gave my straightforward answer: engraved groomsmen gifts idea, of course.

Yes, I’m telling you the truth. That’s why when I was first sent off by my big bro to get his groomsman who happens to be his college buddy by the way a thank you gift for accepting the role, I held up close to him items all engraved with his full name. I thought he won’t have any problem with that having the first man on earth’s name—Adam, with a family name taken from the famous breakfast meal, Bacon. Since I’ve known Adam for quite long now, I know what tickles his fancy. I figured that his love of poetry and literature, being a creative writing major from Columbia University, would make engraved items perfect gifts for his groomsman role. My first rule in gift giving: know the person you’re giving the gift to.

I got him a gold and silver parker pen with his initials engraved on it; the pen is quite way below the arranged budget. I have several more options to add: personalized cuff links, a James Joyce book (Adam read one of his favorite poems one time), a sketched portrait of him with a personal dedication from the artist. I took time to plan out my modus operandi. I got a snapshot of him from his sis, who’s also close to the family. I had no problem with the artist ’cause my dad’s close pal is a renowned one who has had several exhibits in New York and Paris. My greatest pain in the neck is choosing the best among the ideas for engraved groomsmen gifts.

My mother’s advice was to ask Adam’s mother. I figured that is also a cardinal rule in gift giving, particularly for men, find one person close to him and ask what they think clicks with him. That is, if you can’t find a way to find it out yourself. Adam’s mother picked the art work. “He’s always been visiting some galleries. I think he likes one for his study,” she quipped. So I asked her if Adam has a photo he loves so much he considers it a lifetime memento. She almost tripped in her excitement to hand me a snapshot of Adam when he won his first poetry contest way back in Minnesota high. I knew I had the right idea for one of the greatest gifts groomsmen can have. If he likes smoking then an engraved leather Cigar Case and Traveler Gift Set would make a good pick.

But that wasn t enough for me; I asked Adam’s mom for his favorite poem. I researched on the poem, took out an excerpt of a few lines, and had them written as part of the artist’s dedication. So much for creativity, I say.
