House centipedes are a nuisance to every home and necessary steps should be immediately taken for their eradication. Interestingly, these creatures do not invade the home as other bugs tend to do. Although they look ugly they are not harmful to human beings. There are cases when few of the people have been bitten by house centipedes. You can use insecticides to remove them from your home but before using such insecticides you should have to know what is the substance meant for. The guidelines are always written in the product labels.

In case you feel sorry in killing the centipedes then try to put them in a small container and release them away from home. The house centipedes aid the owner in feeding on away other smaller insects that are found in the home. Bedbugs, silverfish, termites, etc are their main attraction for food. When the house centipedes find no insects to feed upon then they proceed to another location. The other appropriate place for the house centipedes is the moist or those areas which do not have sunlight. Since they prefer to find cracks in the house to live in it is wiser to seal all such cracks. The house centipedes are usually mistaken as silverfish which usually they are not. Many people cannot identify the house centipedes and thus ignore their presence.

The house centipedes have actually come from the Mediterranean area and have extended their growth across the world. This is perhaps due to their presence in cargo shipments, because they are insectivore. They easily and swiftly get drawn to the presence of bugs because it is their important food. Other alarming thing is they reproduce fast and in many numbers. Once they discover a suitable home it is sometimes complicated for the owner to eradicate them as their number are not known. They are noticed everywhere in the home starting from kitchen to basement and specifically in such places where they can find food.

To get rid off them from your home you can use the help of exterminators, but that will account for a couple of visit. The other substance which can be used is the boric acid and dehumidifier's. The boric acid acts as poison and wipes out the house centipedes. Humidifier keeps the area dry and the house centipedes normally prefer to stay in damp and dark areas. But the fact is wherever there will be bugs you will discover a house centipede.
