All right, obviously the coolest is the real thing, but I'm a replica watches guy through and through. I love wrist watches, and unless my boss decides I'm worth more a year than the company makes, there's no way I'm ever going to be able to afford the real ones at the rate I like to buy them. (I have 17 replica watches-9 Rolex, 3 Replica Longines Watches, 1 Breitling Navitimer, 1 Cartier Santos, 1 Panerai Radiomir, and 2 Bvlgari.)
Next on my buy list is a 2009 design by Cartier or Panerai. These are by far the most interesting brands this year...a shame in a way since Rolex, Omega and Tag Heuer are taking all the attention...but actually I'm happy about that because I don't want every Tom, Dick, and Boris wearing the same watch as me. I like to be original, even with a replica watch.

So, since the economy is the bummer of the year, I'm limiting myself to 1 watch this year, and trying to decide what's cooler: Cartier or Panerai replica watches? Both are neither too sporty nor too bejewelled, both have serious sized cases in the 50mm range, both catch eyes without being too flashy or obvious (like, say, a gold Day-Date does), both are manly as all hell, both are Swiss brands with tons of tradition....So I can't for my life decide which brand represents me the best this year. The jury is out for lots of people on this very issue.
