There are a large number of well established and well respected ski resorts in the US. If you are planning a vacation, it can be difficult to try to limit your potential options. Each ski resort offers something a little different and unique, which can make comparing them seem impossible. Here is a look at some of the top US ski resorts and what they have to offer.

It is impossible to make a list of top US ski resorts and not list Aspen, Colorado. It is well known across the globe as the home to some of the best slopes around. Stowe Mountain Resort
Stow Mountain Resort is located on Vermont's highest peak, Mt. Mansfield. It is more nearly 4,400 feet above sea level. This resort often gets overlooked because most top US ski resorts are located in Colorado, California, Utah, and Wyoming, however it shouldn't be ignored. The resort offers a large number of different skiing opportunities between Spruce Peak and Mt. Mansfield. This resort features nearly 50 distinct trails that are perfect for all types of skiers from the first-timer to the pros. One of the biggest benefits that Stow Mountain Resort has to offer is the exceptionally long trails, which means that you get to ski more and stand in line less.
Deer Valley Resort
Deer Valley Resort is located in Park City, Utah and played host to the 2002 Olympic Slalom, Aerial, and Mogul events. SKI magazine named it as the top North American ski resort. It is known among the skiing community as the resort that revolutionized ski area service. It even played host to the FIS World Championships.
Killington Ski Resort
Killington ski resort is another Vermont native. It is considered to be the largest and most diverse ski and snowboard area in the Eastern part of the United States. It utilizes 7 interconnected mountains to ensure that you get a diverse selection of trails and verticals. All in all, there are nearly 90 miles of trails to choose from. Along with skiing, it is also known for offering sleigh rides, ice skating, and a wide variety of artisan workshops, country stores, and antique shops.
Vail, Colorado
Vail is another European style ski village located in Colorado. Along with some of the best skiing in the world, it also has a variety of other attributes as well. It blends Colorado history and culture with in style restaurants and shops. It is a great place to visit, even if you don't want to hit the slopes.
