Connecticut is an ideally situated state that can be easily accessed from New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey and also from eastern Pennsylvania. As the state is full of several picturesque and scenic natural beauties and ideally located, it is considered as the gateway to New England and is prime holiday and weekend trip destination of New England.
New Haven has grabbed the status of being the very first planned city of the community. It is one of the oldest cities of United States and exhibits a great well-known history peppered with some renowned names such as Noah Webster, Eli Whitney and Nathan Hale. Now the city has become the second largest municipality in Connecticut following Bridgeport and surpassing Hartford.

The city of New Haven was established by a group of rich Puritans from London in the year 1638. The leaders of the group were Theophilus Eaton and John Davenport and they settled down around New Haven Bay. The town of New Haven became a part of Connecticut colony and it shared the status of being the capital with Hartford from 1701 to 1873. The town is also home to the countries third oldest college named as the Yale University.
The city of New Haven is home to some of the most prominent and architectural marvel dating back to the important era in American history. It exhibits the work of great architects that left their impression in the city in form of some excellent buildings. Ithiel Town, Henry Austin of nineteenth century and Cesar Pelli, Kevin Roche, Herbert Newman and Warrn Platner marked their presence in form of some of the excellent architectures such as Connecticut Financial Center, 360 State Street, Kline Biology Tower, Knights of Columbus Building, and Crown Towers etc.
If history is the thing that interests you, then the city of New Haven offers you a lot of museums and most of these museums are associated with Yale. Connecticut Children's Museum, the Knights of Columbus, and the Peabody Museum of Natural History along with the Yale Center for British Art and many other museums are meant to amuse the visitors with their excellent collections and exhibits. One can also visit the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library that features the largest collection of rare books and manuscripts.
Yale University Art Gallery is another fascinating and significant place that houses a great collection of art in several buildings. It is known for exhibiting the work of some renowned artists of the region. It exhibits some Italian paintings along with modern art and African sculpture.
The entire city of New Haven is full packed with several great bars, restaurants, discos and pubs along with several nightclubs. Some of the most popular and sought after bars and clubs of the city include The Anchor, Gotham Citi Café, Oracle, Hula Hank's, Pacifico with nightclubs such as Alchemy Nightclub, Club Ice, Taboo Lounge, The Blue Pearl, Mohegan Sun Casino etc.
Alchemy Nightclub has an ultra-lounge and nightclub at the same place. This is the best place to find the excitement of having a drink and to chat along with a separate club to have some fun in form of music.
