History of horror movies and how it has evolved through time

In the present scenario movies have started a wild craze among movie spectators without which the world would be a different place to live in. Really, you can't imagine yourself without movies. You are highly influenced by watching films. You start thinking in broader features due to the healthy impact of films. Be it any movie, passionate, comedy, emotional, family tale, action, mystery, suspense, animation or horror it has become a main entertainment factor in your lives.
Since the days of Gothic Novels, the stories of vampire, monsters, ghosts and imps have become very famous. From the period of “Anglo-Saxon age” the imps, demons and the chivalry romance which became highly popular, till date the spirits and the imps have sustained their existence by evil activities in the horror movies. The very first horror movie that was on screens in the year 1896 was Le Manoir Du Diable-The House of the Devil, by Georges Melies-a famous French filmmaker. It was on screens on the Christmas evening, in Paris. It was a short film for two-minutes which depicted a haunted and isolated castle and the mansion where the demon dwelled. After this, horror films earned fame and interest by many people and from the traditional age of English legendary and because of Gothic novels like Dracula, The Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein and a sequence of Mummy movies brought the horror movies in limelight.

Horror films flooded into the movie business and a few heart pounding horror movies between 1970's and 80's like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday The 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street performed remarkably well in the field of horror movies and gained a great fame. It remained in the hearts of horror movie lovers for many years. Later on, in the 1990's a few thrilling horror films like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, made a grand entry and frightened the large number of crowd to the extent that they got shivers also in their sleeps. These movies attracted a large crowd of teens from Colleges and High Schools. Then was an ear of the disrupting psychopathic demon that murdered people mercilessly. You have even seen the bloody violence that showed nail-biting movies of Tarantino and the highly fearing Asian Horror movies.
Then, for years the horror films with psychopathic killer theory along with the remake of Japanese movies and revised editions of traditional terror movies ruled the minds of the subgenre. The Cannibal Holocaust's of the film industry were unobserved as these were censored and buried for unknown reasons. There were some horror movies made after 1994 which contained top 10 horror scenes and the horror film Pulp Fiction was highly accepted and was ahead among others. Right from the past, from slasher shots to psychic killer who murdered innocent girls after which the aggressive merciless killer movies were screened that gained great fame. However, the present victims are not as innocent as they were earlier. The horror movies still show these psychic murderers with shrewd intentions to kill and create horror. Eli Roth's Hostel was one of the most horrifying movies that was screened in the past decade.
The horror movies of today are very disturbing and affliction to create havoc and fright in the hearts of the young generation. But then the latest horror movies with terror creating sound effects and the scary graphics has given a new gory horror image to the films as compared to those in the earlier period. Originally films were very simple without any scientific effects and sounds but after a huge advancement in the field of pictures these have become more exciting and appealing. There are a lot of Horror and Scary movies that a huge number of people who love to see. The sophisticated technology that creates the special-effects, the terror graphics and the scary music with darkness in the backdrop is what people are curious to watch in recent horror movies. The audience wouldn't mind pissing off in their pants but would love to see any scary films either the old ones of the latest ones.
