If you experience more stubborn stains, simply make a paste of olive oil and cigarette ash, then massage evenly on the affected area. Incase there are minor burn marks on your oak dining table, simply massage toothpaste evenly on the damaged area or grain then wipe clean and apply polish. If the burns have created pronounced marks, make a paste of vegetable oil and powdered pumice and apply evenly along the grain, treating only the affected area, then wiping off and polishing as usual.
Dining room furniture is susceptible to a lot of scratches and dents, just like their living room furniture counterparts. A lot of dents are as a result of dropped objects which can basically be repaired by soaking the affected area into water for one minute. This allows water to get into the wood. Incase the affected area is sealed off, prick using a pin to allow water soak inside where you can re-wax after the repair. After a minute, place a ball of soft piece of cotton cloth on the dent and gently iron the area using the normal iron.
