Years ago, there was a huge campaign on Twitter marketing tools. It was thought that Twitter was one of the best ways to grow a list and to get folks to order the products you are advertising. But the question is, were any of those tools that were promoted, actually doing you any good? In today's article, we are going to be talking about Twitter marketing and if it is even worth it for you to get into it.

I was one of those who was interested to determine if getting a huge following on Twitter was going to help my product promotion campaigns and so bought the tools. Not only did I pay to sign up for programs that would bring me followers but I invested in several softwares to help promote the products I was selling. In total, I think I purchased about 8 software programs to help with my Twitter marketing adventure.
I purchased a program that would automatically follow people for me in an attempt to get them to follow me back. Those who were not following me on Twitter would be automatically removed from my follow list by another program I had purchased. This would allow me to follow various people again to get them to follow me. Some of the software I bought are not interesting enough to discuss but I will just mention an useful program that auto-Tweeted any blog posts I made whenever they were published. In the beginning, I was truly pleased with the end results after using the programs in combination since they actually delivered on what they promised. Nonetheless, my exhilaration was quickly squashed when I realized that I wasn't making any money. I would post to my blog 10 times each day and those blog entries would be shown directly on Twitter just like they ought to. Hoping to increase the number of daily posts, I found a way to automatically post any number of entries to my blog and hopefully obtain more Twitter followers.
The results of my Twitter marketing efforts are as follows: In three years, I was able to have a Twitter following of moreo r less 10,000 individuals. You might think this is an awesome number, but let's go a bit further: During those three years I had affiliate links to my products on no less than 15,000 blog postings in my Twitter account. And that was the only promoting that I did for that blog, I chose not to even ping the posts to see just what Twitter could do for me. Just how 'good' it was rapidly became apparent: after 3 years just two affiliate sales made me $46.74 plus a whopping $9.10 for Adsense. With just 2 - 4 visits every day coming from Twitter, maybe this is not surprising.
Even with close on 10,000 Twitter followers and using software automation, it seems that this is not enough to generate money marketing with Twitter. As a matter of fact, in the last 3 years I have not even pulled in a decent amount of money from that blog to pay for the Twitter programs that I had paid for. There could be other better means of promoting on Twitter, but from my experience, using automatic software tools is not one of them.
