Halloween in Italy: Gardaland and other events for the scariest night

This year Italians have one more excuse to celebrate Halloween. The day of Ognissanti, where people honor their dead, is a Tuesday, which means many will take advantage of the holiday in order to organize a weekend getaway. Verona and other cities in the region of Veneto are organizing special events for Halloween.
Gardaland, one of the most popular parks in the country, is the home of one of the most appreciated Halloween events. All weekends of the month of October, the park hosts Magic Halloween Gardaland, an occasion during which the park dresses up as the scariest setting, inhabited by witches, monsters and the spookiest creatures.

From Saturday 8th, the park will welcome the brave visitors that will be able to enjoy the 40 attractions of the park among pumpkins, bats and screams. The theaters within the facilities will also offer a special program consisting on shows starring characters like Count Dracula in "The Castel of Mysteries". These very same monstrosities will later participate in the famous Gardaland Halloween Parade, a fanfare of music and color in which vampires, zombies and devils take the streets to terrorize the guests. The show will end right before closing hours with a final spell cast on the visitors by Prezzemolo, the amiable dragon and Aurora, the little witch.
The most awaited novelty in this year's edition of the Halloween celebration in Gardaland is the cemetery, a space specially designed to give the chills to even the most courageous visitors. In fact, only the most daring adventurers are advised to enter the yard, home of the undead and the haunted that lay on the graves and pits, ready to have fun scaring every human being they cross.
The narrow streets of Venice will also be full of dark creatures during Halloween. The already mysterious calli of the city will surely become hair-rising during the nights where Venetians and visitors from the nearby towns will dress up as killers and vampires in order to scare people jumping off at every corner. Moreover, many hotels and restaurants are organizing theme parties, as well as frightening routes on boats driven by ghosts of tormented pirates.
Padova will offer the scariest, most terrifying night parties to the students from all over the world that regularly live in this city. The afternoon of October 29th, the Padova Halloween Parade organized by the youngsters of the town will take the streets of the city center.
Treviso will offer an alternative celebration by reliving the ancient origin of Halloween, the Celtic festivity of Samhain. The Gaelic commemoration of the end of the summer receives the name of the month of November in Irish. The Romans identified it as their celebration of the dead, while the Christians replaced it with the party of Ognissanti, All Saints.
Whether you choose to spend the most important night of the Autumn in Gardaland or in the streets of Venice, remember Halloween is a night of magic when anything can happen, but that the light of the new day will eventually come to sweep away all your fears.
