You have a business and you know that it will benefit from direct mail brochures. These are powerful materials because they contain a lot of information about your products or the services that you render plus these get to the homes of your target market. But you wonder, will my potential buyer ever pick up the brochure and read the contents? Or my brochure mailing will be just a waste because it will end up in the trash?

If you are in this predicament, stop second guessing and continue to read below about the different tips that can help you produce brochure mailing that will sell your products.

1. Speak your selling message on the front cover. The front cover is the first impression onto the inside text of your mailers. This is by far the most important part, but is often neglected. And sad to say, many brochures out there do not sure the cover to sell. You see, the cover of a pamphlet is like the headline of a poster or a print ad. Many people only read the cover like they would read the headlines of ads and even newspapers. They seldom finish the entire story. So if you depend on the photos and texts found inside the brochure, then you are wasting your resources in producing the brochure. Seeing your front cover should be enough to convince your potential buyers that they need your products.

2. Use only one photo on the cover. Many designers like to cramp many photos in a single space. Since there is not much text on the front cover, they think it is a waste of space to just put one blown up there so they add some small ones. But adding the small photos reduces the visual appeal and impact of the cover because it looks cluttered or worse, crowded. Choose only one photo that speaks about the entire contents of the brochure.

3. Select meaningful photos. In the inside pages, use more photos than words. They can convey more meaning than what words can. This is because you have to assume that your target market is composed of busy people who do not have the time to read the small prints on your brochure. After all, it is not for leisure reading. If they want to read, they will pick up a good book and not a brochure. So make sure that you tell your story with photos. Properly caption them because if your reader is interested in your photo, they will surely read the caption. Additionally, if possible, use photographs more than graphics and drawings because these are more interesting. And they can speak of details that can be expressed in drawings. The photos also show that your products are real and not just part of a drawing board.

4. Call to action. You are sending out brochures because you want your reader to do something. Do you want them to call you and place an order? Do you want them to make an inquiry? Tell them so. And provide all your contact information. If the contents could no longer be contained in the brochure, refer your readers to the website. That is also a call to action.

Following these guidelines for your direct mail brochures will surely hit the spot. Do not be afraid to experiment your designs because that is the only way to find out what works. These tops will surely make your next brochure mailing a top seller.
