Aside from sales letter and postcards, brochures are also an important part of the direct mail package. Basically, brochures are designed as support to the sales letter or the postcard. They are meant to provide the features and benefits of the products or services you offer. This is where your customers and prospects would see the wholeness of your offerings. As such, it is important that your brochure printing is designed well so you can easily convince prospects to patronize your offerings.

The following are ways to pull the power of your brochure:

- Come up with a simple but catchy cover. Everything starts with the cover. If people see the cover catchy and interesting, they would be encouraged to flip through the inside pages. But make sure not to overdo the design; otherwise, people won't be looking at your material.

- Make sure the design tells the story of your business. There is simply not enough room in your letter or postcard to tell the whole story and try to sell your business. But, brochures have the space you require, so be sure to make the most of every page in your material. Put everything you want in the pages including product details, benefits, features, and ordering instructions.

- Provide a strong offer. Present a strong and irresistible offer to give your customers and prospects no reason to ignore your business. In fact, you can restate your offer all over your material. Don't worry of looking too repetitious. Your goal is to get your customers moving, so you have every reason to repeat your offer throughout the pages.

- Make your headline interesting. Your headline should present the benefit your products offer if you want to get people's attention. But you don't have to create a lengthy headline. Just keep it short and direct do you can deliver your message at first glance.

- Create a design fit to your target audience. Don't just go for a design just because you think it looks cute. It's important that you come up with a design that is appropriate to your customers and prospects. It would be best if you understand the needs and wants of your customers first so you could come up with the perfect design that will appeal to them.

- Use the right graphics and images. You can't just use any image in your brochure templates. You need to make sure the images are ideal to your business. If you will include images of your products, make sure it is taken by a professional photographer to guarantee the quality of the photo when printed into your brochure.

- Include value added details in your design. You can always add a how-to, tips, or question and answer section in your brochure to encourage people to read and keep it. Make sure the information you provide would be relevant and interesting to your customers and prospects. You can also include coupons to motivate them to make an action at once.

The next time you complete your direct mail package don't forget to include brochures in there. Create a solid and impressive design that will encourage recipients to purchase your offerings. If done well, you can be sure to increase response rates significantly and boost up your sales and profits.
