Preparing a Printing Pricelist for Your Clients

The printing industry in Dallas is fast-paced because every day, printing jobs just keep coming in. Dallas printers need to keep up with the demand and be able to streamline their operations so that they will not waste time in dealing with their clients. After all, when you are in the business of commercial printing, time is really of the essence because of the deadlines that you meet every day. DFW Printers are not new to this and so to save time; they have already prepared a standard printing quotation.

Most of the time in a Dallas printer, it is their sales personnel that have the freedom in making computations for their clients' printing jobs. They just follow a formula that is passed on to them by the management. This formula includes operational costs and commissions. The quotation then would just vary based on the number of printed pieces, size of the material, the kind of paper stock used, the finishing needed, and the number of colors (whether the final output is one-color, two-color, or four-color). Without this information, the printing press could not give out an exact quote for the printing job.

If you are a commercial printing company, you cannot possibly have a pricelist of each and every printing job because there are just clients that prefer their materials to be customized. But these are just a few, compared to the rather big percentage of jobs that are usually ordered. Some of the more commonly ordered printed materials are tri-fold brochures, posters, newsletters, magazines, business cards, flyers, labels, pocket folders, receipts, and catalogs. There are also materials used specifically for each print job and that is what the printer usually recommends. For example, brochures normally use C2S#80, posters used the Kromkote #189, business cards use vellum, while newsletters use C2S for the cover and book paper on the inside. A printer already knows this and just makes the computation for the more popularly ordered products.

After years of being in the printing industry, you are already know which products are mostly ordered by your clients, the number of pieces, the usual finishing that they ask, and the number of colors. For sure, you could already create a price list out of them. That way, when there are clients that will require special jobs, these are the only ones that you will just need to make computations for.

The printing pricelist helps standardize the pricing within the company, as there are usually more than two sales executives in a printing company. Additionally, the prepared pricing guide lessens their work and their stress, as now they can concentrate on looking for more clients instead of making computations for quotations. Computations can be tedious, especially if your skills are really more on sales and not in the processing of numbers.

Preparing a price guide for your printing jobs is a very good and efficient way to run Dallas Printers. There are just so many clients that need printed materials in Dallas and therefore, there is no time to lose, even for the preparation of quotations. DFW printers always face deadlines so the last thing that they need are computations that could make their people stressed and even confused. With the pricelist, the only time that new computations are done is when the client specifies some customized requirements for their jobs.
