Printing companies should really be happy because now they can dispose of their empty toner cartridges properly without harming the environment. Laser printers have been really helpful but since they use toners, there are of course cartridges that are waste products. And these are really big things made of plastic. If they are not disposed properly, they will just be added as another thing to stuff the plastic landfill in Dallas.
Now, DFW printers have a choice on what to do. Now only are these efforts worthy to do because they protect the environment, they can also earn the printer some extra money in terms of rebates.

So how do you go about doing this if you are a commercial printing company in the Dallas area?
1. You may already have some empty cartridges piled up in your stock room because you don't know what to do with them or you think that throwing them would just be a bad thing to do. But since they are taking up space, you know that you need to dispose them somehow.
Or this could be your first time to replace your toner. If so, then just open your printer or photocopying machine and locate where the cartridge is. You can usually find how to do this in your manual. Grasp the toner firmly and pull it out. Then place it in a plastic bag so that the leftover powder will not stain the carpet or the furniture. It is virtually impossible to remove such stains. Collect the units of empty toners first until you have several units of cartridges already before bringing them to the recycling center.
2. There are many places that you can bring toner back. One is Staples and the good thing is that there are about three of them within the city. At Staples, they give you a $2 rebate for each toner but you can bring only up to 10 every month because they also keep a record.
Another place to go to is the Office Depot. They give a $3 store rebate for every cartridge and the limit is 20. There are 10 locations for Office Depot within Dallas. The best thing to do is to first collect the cartridges until you have reached the limit before bringing them to these stores for exchange. So at least it is worth the trip. Additionally, it would also be best to go there when you also have other errands in the area so that you will hit two birds with one stone. Going there for this purpose only defeats the purpose because you will spend on fuel and you will spend time and effort. Plus you will contribute to air pollution with your car's emission.
3. You can also look at the website of Earth 911 in order to see other options for recycling toners in Dallas. Look for which that is more convenient to you.
4. You can also mail-back the toners to their manufacturers using the prepaid shipping label that they usually provide with the new box or packaging when you purchase the toner.
Recycling can actually help printing shops get some rebate on their toner expenses. At the same time, these opportunities could also allow DFW printers to help protect the environment from getting worse than it already is.
