Most canine's are not just pet's; they are part of the family; and just the same as children, dogs require a great deal of time, care and love to become happy little pooches. It is your responsibility to teach them right from wrong in order to be a good parent.

The key to any type of dog training is patience and consistency. Regardless of whether you are housebreaking or potty training your dog, crate training, obedience training, getting them to learn their name, trying to stop them barking, walking on a leash, or learning tricks, dog training basics should not be taken lightly. Dogs like routines; therefore you should establish a good behavioral routine which will make you both happier. The dog should learn to respond to your command when you call. Training will assist your dog and everyone who comes into contact with him safe.

Not being able to take control of a situation with your dog can be overwhelming. It is important to remember that you are the alpha...the leader of the pack. Try to remain calm and never reward behavior that you do not want to keep occurring. Keep a positive attitude, and be firm and friendly at all times. You and your canine friend need to have fun when training. Mistakes in training will happen; therefore, you should be realistic about what goals you want to achieve. By doing this you will feel less of a failure. Finding the right method will result in success. Both you and your dog will be happy with positive results, and your dog will know what is expected of him.

It is important to remember that different dogs need various kinds of training techniques. Reviewing the breed of your dog along with its age, personality and characteristics, will help you to decide which training methods would be better suited to them. The technique that works best for most dogs is the positive reinforcement method. Dog training collars are available, but they can be dangerous to your dog. The best method is to use praise rather than creating fear in your dog. If your dog is constantly rewarded for good efforts, he will be motivated into good behavior. Training should not only occur at classes, or particular times of the day, it is something that needs to be undertaken during all day to day activities.

You may or may not be aware that simply neutering your dog can stop lots of aggression problems. It is also important to realize that crate training is not a punishment; rather it is a pleasure, as your dog has his own special place.

The more information about training you know, the more comfortable you will be when it comes to training your dog. Undertaking research and studying particular methods is important to ensure that you succeed at your goals. Educate yourself so that you do not lose patience and are mentally prepared for what lies ahead. There are vast amounts of dog training and puppy training tips available, which will help you to accomplish your training expectations.

Bonding with your canine friend is extremely important when it comes to making him happy. A happy dog owner owns a happy dog.
