I can almost hear the people that didn't like that answer clicking the "back" button on their browser, but there you have it.
Personally, I've found that marketing techniques are a whole lot like technology: as soon as you get comfortable with the newest one, something else that sounds even better gets announced.
Now, that doesn't mean I don't think there are some extraordinary options out there, but you can't jump around. You have to work at something long enough to get and the grow some real results, or you'll just keep spinning your wheels.
Think about swapping marketing strategies as though you were someone swapping diets. This week no carbs, but then you change your mind and focus on a high protein level. A month later you decide to go vegetarian for a while but then you see a new miracle smoothing on TV that you just HAVE to try...
That kind of constant fluctuation would leave your body in complete confusion. Maybe you'd see some initial results here and there, but then you're off to the next miracle method and not really going anywhere fast.
What you would need to do would be to implement day to day lifestyle changes. Things that you could do consistently, long term in order to see any real substantial results.
Internet marketing is no different. It really doesn't make sense to hop from something like pay per click to article marketing, then on to cold calling purchased leads, then switching over to article marketing again, only to then turn around and decide you'd rather focus on posting videos. Jumping around like that doesn't give any of those methods an opportunity to really work. Marketing has to grow, so don't short change yourself.
You may see a little bit in the way of results, but you will see huge results if you take consistent, massive action. In the end, there really isn't any one perfect marketing method out there. It all depends on who you are and how you work.
Just as we all have differing dietary needs, we also all have different comfort levels in marketing.
The crucial thing is that you find the one that works for you and master it. Implement that strategy into your business consistently and the result will pour in.
