Halloween night is a frightful, yet fun filled evening of candy and costumes. If you and friends are invited to a Halloween party, you will all need very special Halloween costumes to join in the fun. With the newest slasher movies coming out at this time of the season, and the stories of witches and vampires, it is all in fun and makes for a great time.
There are those whose Halloween night is very special to them. They go out to the Halloween stores, as soon as they open up for the season, just to be the first ones to find the perfect look for that big night.

A rather complete costume can be purchased in a box or bag. You can also rent one from a costume rental shop. These are mostly found in the big cities, and it can be pricey, but will probably be well worth it. Then you must complete the look with makeup, or maybe some gory scars and warts, depending on your costume.
You might want a really gory look, if you decide to be a vampire or a zombie. You can find scars and flaking skin that is moldable and looks really disgusting when you are through applying it. Then it needs to be topped off with a realistic blood makeup. These are all favorites at this time of year.
Halloween shops pop up all over the country in the weeks before Halloween. They usually start setting up in August for a September grand opening, and they are open and flourishing throughout the Halloween season. If you want to get a head start on next Halloween, they usually have a sale event in the few days after Halloween that they are still open, before they back up for the year. The great leftover items are about 50 percent to 75 percent off the regular retail price, so you will have to hurry before it is all picked through.
A scary holiday is Halloween, but others take advantage of this evening to dress in a silly manner, or funny, or even sexy. The combination of different costumes creates a great costume party atmosphere. As more and more people attend your party, you start to get the real feel of the Halloween spirit.
There are the morbid wound lovers, who will come to the masquerade party with their regular clothing on, but perhaps with a hatchet through their bleeding heads. Others will dress up as a clown. They will seem harmless enough, but strangely, many people are afraid of clowns. And there are always the guys who love to dress up as a woman for that one time of the year. It is fun, and people do get a real kick out of this type of costume.
Whether you go all out and rent authentic-looking Halloween costumes for the Victoria era, or put your own twist on a gypsy fortune telling witch by sewing your own garb, top it off with crazy makeup and props, and have a fun, safe time.
