Once in awhile there's a big shift in a societies mindset concerning the role of education also it importance. Obviously education is thought of as vital however in certain cases in may be considered more indispensable then sometimes. Personally i think that people are entering a period when our country is going to have to prioritize what we feel the importance of a college education is for our future generations. We're not able to keep going down the same path of skyrocketing education costs combined with a weakening economy. I for one know change has to come, its just a matter of when and just how much change that will be.
After i was younger attending college wasn't as essential as it is today. A lot of my friends didn't even entertain the idea of attending college. Using a college education wasn't a necessary part of having a comfortable lifestyle. Today though everything has changed. The statistics are extremely clear about how exactly important college is. People who do not have a college degree earn substantially less then those who do. Not only that but the quantity of work available to those without college degrees is minimal.

Our country was never founded on the indisputable fact that we'd all take care of each other. Society as Americans is much more aimed at anyone who has money.. well great.. those who don't, sorry. Well fortunately with regards to education there are lots of scholarship, educational funding and grant opportunities which exist. These are privately funded as well as government funded. These opportunities give people who may not have the way to afford school the opportunity to receive the same kind of education those with increased money possess the luxury of. The trouble with these systems is that they are simply not enough. Especially now. The economy has been dreadful for over Three years now and there's really a massive array around the corner. More and more people won't be able to afford the price of college which scholarships and educational funding programs can't possibly support them all. What must happen is really a fundamental alternation in our education system.
Our education system has got beyond control. Colleges charging ridiculous tuitions for college students. The school years getting shortened, and just much less quality for the money. This has reached stop. We have to awaken and see how this technique is going to ruin itself. The larger the costs of school equals the less quantity of people in a position to go. You combine this having a weak economy and then nobody is winning.
It's time to get education reform. We have to demand that colleges lower their costs and be accountable for the rates at which the rise those costs. We have to demand that we get what we pay for. An excellent education ought to be a quality one, not just a degree from the school that was previously good. We need to teach our youth in order to compete, not just provide them with certificates stating that they learned something. It is time to create these changes and begin realizing our children's higher education is the way forward for this excellent country.
