Article Maketing Tips - What Makes This Method So Effective

John Rhodes, a successful Internet marketer, trainer and publisher with over 100 products online and over 100 Amazon books to his credit, uses a planned systems approach to article marketing. He believes that if you aren't using article marketing then you are throwing away money. In fact, you're leaving super hot clicks on the table for someone else to pick up. Buying traffic is expensive and keeps going up, wheras the cost of article marketing is in decline. Many who have tried article marketing drop out early, not giving themselves adequate chance to succeed.

Misconceptions about the strength of article marketing abound, some basing their opinions on what they may have heard about Google's intent. This couldn't be further from the truth, despite Google's recent Farmer Update. The secret is that articles are a unique kind of content and that getting easy traffic is only a matter of setting up your articles in exactly the right way and with the right focus. John Rhodes is living proof, having generated over 20,000 clicks from his online content.

An article is simply a very specific type of content structured in a very straightforward way. Although articles are actually extremely borning, they can result in floods of traffic to your website/offers. Missing the overall article framework for an article is a common mistake, as well as having less than effective bio box.. The bio box creates important back-links to your content and needs to instruct what to do vs. actually providing specifics about the author.

John thinks of his articles as "zombies," that never die. If done corectly, or even just adequately, they never stop pulling traffic. Articles should be positioned right before action decisions, e.g., doing research about a particular product or service (think Amazon affiliate) or finding useful information online (capture page). Think about the research process you did prior to your last product purchase, e.g., where to buy, product ratings, etc. Here are John's reader grease tips:

* Use bullets (or * if not permitted)
* Use numbered lists
* Use blocks of content with subheaders
* Use a mix of short and long paragraph
* Use keyword in 1st 50 words
* Use keyword in last 50 words

John recommends tracking your "stats" in the article directories and then linking articles you are posting to your strongest previous ones, to "make the strong stronger." In some article directories, these links can be in the body of the article, but usually not in the first 50 words. One of the participants on the webinar reinforced this point, in that Oprah articles always link to other Oprah articles!

What are some of the reasons that is article marketing successful? To start with, it is an extremely low cost strategy. Moreover, you can use straightforward systems do the writing and submission fast, e.g., outsourcing. You can also warm-up readers with the content as well as control behavior with the bio box.
