Applying for financial aid from the federal government is always a possibility for students, but only if the school in question is accredited and accepted by the United States Department of Education. There are many reasons why you should only consider accredited schools, and this is one of them.
Apply for Federal Student Aid
Once you know your school is accredited, you can begin applying for federal student aid by filling out a FAFSA. Even if you don't qualify for grants, you will certainly qualify for low-interest loans, and you won't need to begin repaying them until six months after graduation. There are also a host of scholarship opportunities that you can research to see what you qualify for. It can't hurt to apply for as many scholarships as possible, although this can be a lengthy process.
Apply for School Financial Aid
The paralegal school you are planning on attending might also offer its own financial aid in the way of loans, grants and scholarships, so you should look into this before you make your final decision of where to apply if money is a big issue for you. They may also offer payment plans to make it easier for you to pay the total balance for each semester, allowing you to make installment payments rather than paying for the whole lump sum in full.
Apply for a Private Loan
Private loans from banks and other financial institutions are also options. Again, it will be important that your school is accredited. This should be your final option, however, after exhausting all your other resources.
