What stock needs to sell

The physical logistics of a retail outlet isn't all about attractive products. Of course, products need to be seen, displayed well and accessible, not to mention well lit.

To make this happen, a shop needs more than the products that are presented neatly in the displays: it needs the displays themselves. From shop fittings to carrier bags – it all must be considered for an effective and productive service.

From window displays to paper bags

Shop fittings and lighting are a key element and form the foundations of any retail outlet. But then to actually display your 'wares' – mannequins are a necessity for attractive window displays to lure the customers in. Successful window displays draw attention away from competitors, and create the all important first impression: so it's critical to get them just right. For this, mannequins, acrylic cubes and display stands can be used, as well as any other appropriate sources like material or props.

Let's not forget the clever way to do some promotion once customers have left the store: carrier bags. Be it paper bags or plastic bags – having the shop name, logo and/or colours printed on carrier bags are a great way to get a brand name out there. If it is clear and present on your carrier bag, the public will to see it more, recognise it, and feel intrigued to be a customer, too. The name becomes known.

Making it easy for customers

But there's more required for the smooth running of a retail outlet. For sales: Don't forget your cash registers. But how do people know how much something is in the first place? Don't forget your pricing gun, tickets and labels. You can't give people the option to keep their hangers in you don't have clothes hangers to begin with... and what if they're buying lots of things? Better carry a shopping basket then. And of course: don't forget the all important security systems and all necessary stationary. These are all necessary products required to ensure a productive and effective business, and a customer focused, quality shopping experience.
