- Before you can even sit down to write a dissertation paper, you first have to carefully consider the topic that you will write on. If you are not sure, write down the few topics that you have in mind and then ask your lecturer to narrow down on the topic to one that is relevant and that you can easily get materials on. Never choose a topic that you do not like because you will have a very hard time doing it.
- Make a plan on how you will go about writing the essay and conducting a research for all the materials that you will need. Once you make this plan, once you start postponing what you are supposed to do, then you will not complete the dissertation in the expected time. Arrange the ideas in an orderly manner to give you a clear thinking line. If the ideas that you have get mixed up, then you will not do the work well. Sometimes you may get a good idea while you are not writing the work, make sure you write it down on a book so that you will not forget.
- Remember to check a sample dissertation from your university library or from the internet. This will give you a rough idea of what you are supposed to do and what is expected of you. It will also give you the procedure that is mostly used to write the dissertation.
- Apart from your lecturer, remember to ask for help from friend who have had a previous experience in writing the dissertation paper. They may help you to include some very vital information that you may have missed or left out. Ask these people information that may be relevant toward writing the dissertation. Give them the paper whenever you write a chapter so that they can correct those areas that you may have made mistakes and add any information that you may have left out.
- There is no student who sets out to write a bad dissertation; the problem is you may get a sample that is not that good. This will mislead you and you will end up writing a bad dissertation paper.
- Do not get dissertation samples that are very rare and have used rare format. This further leaves you even more confused. Just check the internet to see what format to use if your lecturer has not asked you to follow a particular one.
