Ray Higdon was in foreclosure under two years ago. His blog today outranks most MLM companies, with an Alexa score of 21,000. And as part of his learning curve, he's had his facebook, Youtube and Twitter accounts all shut down. On a recent webinar, he shared content that every network marketer and internet guru should pay close attention to.
Ray's blog provides his central strategy of connecting all the components of social media and building his online "brand.". With his huge MLM team, what are the biggest mistakes Ray sees being made by most marketers today?

1. Many marketers focus on technology vs. problem solving. Those new to the Internet realm vastly overestimate their own skills, thinking their knowledge will impress others, especially technical stuff.
2. Consistency is a major problem and newcomers don't stick with their new marketing efforts long enough. On the flip side, those that are consistent practically find it impossible not to get 40 leads per day.
3. Underestimating the value of their list. The sole reason for the existence of a blog is to build a list. Make sure your offer addresses real pain and solves real problems for people. You have what these people are searching for in their lives. If you don't believe this, you may need to consider changing professions!
4. Some are waiting for everything to be perfect. This is a fatal error. Ray suggests John Maxwell's "Failing Forward," for those needing help with this issue.
5. Most mismanage their list. By simply informing his list of an effective webinar series on sponsoring, Ray was able to earn $3200 recently.
The first requirement for success is for a leader to believe in his/her own marketplace value. In fact, your value in the marketplace will dictate your income, but not only that your "belief" will energize your own activity in creating value. All of the top marketers started from positions similar to Ray; many were dead broke. What they have in common is vision and belief in themselves. There is no other industry offering similar opportunities to people with a big desire to "turn it around," with no educational, age, or experience required. Let others know "your story," and set a goal to tell it to a big audience, e.g., on an MLSP weekly call. Always think with the end in mind.
