Interview: Megan Fox on her angelic character Lily, Passion Play movie and working with Mickey Rourke

A mysterious and sensuous Megan Fox – with real angel wings! That alone should persuade viewers to watch the movie Passion Play, and if you include Mickey Rourke, Bill Murray and Kelly Lynch, the movie is sure to be an interesting classic.
Produced by Rebecca Wang, Passion Play is a romantic thriller that follows a down on his luck musician Nate (played by Mickey Rourke) who winds up in the desert at a gunpoint when he tries to steal a car. Interestingly, Rourke's character escapes death and end up in the safety of a circus where he meets Lily (played by Megan Fox). Just when their romance was about to start, Happy Shannon (played by Bill Murray) finds out about Lily's wings and wants her for himself. A debut production of Rebecca Wang Entertainment, Passion Play movie is sure to be an interesting film.

Megan Fox recently discussed her role in the movie Passion Play:
Q. Tell us about your character in the film Passion Play?
Megan: Well, Lily is a chosen orphan who is adopted or taken in by a man who runs a circus and when she goes to puberty, she grows wings and she becomes part of a circus act and becomes bird woman. She is very sheltered and vulnerable who ends up falling in love with Nate.
Q. How is Lily like you and How is Lily not?
Megan: Lily is a lot like me and I can completely relate to the character because I think I can be really vulnerable also and I spent my entire adult life in a relationship with someone who sort of protected me and raised me and I still feel very sheltered even though I have seen all the things, but I feel I still have a childlike quality that Lily has.
Q. The script is very different. What appealed to you the most about the script?
Megan: I liked the script and it made me cry. I sat down and I read it for whole 45 minutes and I never do that with any other movie because I have a habit of putting it down and do other things, but with this I did not do that. I read it continuously and read it over and over again. And everybody that I gave it to did the same thing and everybody fell in love with it. It is very romantic and beautiful and something that we have not seen in a long time in the cinemas and that was what appealed to me.
Q. You are playing a girl with the wings who has very human reaction to the wings.
Megan: Yes, she is embarrassed, ashamed and very resentful I think. I feel like that sometimes, what you become known for, you tend to become more self-conscious about the things you are praised for and if she is always worshipped and have all the attention because of her wings, I think she will be self-conscious like I am of certain things, the way that people are.
