Firms once again investing in IT infrastructure

These days, many businesses rely heavily on technology such as servers, whether they are HP servers or any other type of offering. Indeed, without the right computing solutions a considerable proportion of enterprises would struggle to cope and their operations may grind to a halt.

However, over recent times economic conditions have suppressed spending on technical solutions because a lot of firms have been straining to balance their books.

But now, as many nations are emerging from the worst of the financial difficulty caused by the banking collapse, interest in IT offerings is rising once again, it has been suggested.

The Financial Times cites figures produced by research firm Gartner that suggest companies are investing in IT infrastructure again so that they can drive down costs in the longer term. Also, such provisions enable them to improve their efficiency and expand the markets they operate in.

According to Gartner, worldwide enterprise software spending is likely to rise by 9.5 per cent this year and will top $267 billion (£167 billion). This is up from the $244 billion recorded last year. Meanwhile, the firm also claimed that the global market will reach $288 billion in 2012.

Commenting on the findings, managing vice-president at Gartner Joanne Correia said: "The market for enterprise software continues to recover, following the 2009 downturn, with signs of ongoing growth on the horizon."

She added: "We have identified a strong correlation between GDP growth and enterprise software spending growth, where software tends to grow four to six per cent above GDP in normal market conditions."

The good news for companies seeking to invest in new software or servers, including HP servers, is that there is now a vast array of options to choose from. As long as they are careful and opt for a reliable supplier, they should be more than happy with the results. And, by heading online to source the provisions, they can benefit from great deals too.
