Why We Need PAs More Than Ever

Evolution isn't just something that has made us walk straight and shed our gills; it is something that is happening constantly in all areas of life. And as such, the activities we conduct, such as business, are also evolving all the time.

Today, business is much more fast-paced and much more heavily reliant on technology, meaning the scope of what can be achieved has also become much greater. Because of these changes, jobs themselves have changed and workers may well be handling numerous jobs at numerous times with a huge scale of logistics involved and no time left to manage them.

This is where PAs are needed ever more than ever. While some people may think that the rise of technology has meant that the less skilled aspects of jobs can become totally automated and in the process that PA's jobs can now be done by computers, it is actually the opposite that is true. Whilst some of the more mundane jobs can indeed be now done digitally, the actual need for workload to be delegated has increased with the potential of the digital age, meaning that while PA jobs are changing, they are actually becoming more integral.

Organisational skills and secretarial skills are still needed in small measures, but many PAs will now be expected to be much more forward thinking and manage projects, or sections of projects, in their own right.

For the potential PA, it has never been more important to undergo PA training. PA courses are now much more than just a lesson in answering phones. PA training will help a prospective PA fully understand the breadth of skills they need and to develop them sufficiently for use in the corporate environment. A PA is no longer just a simple job, and for those who want to stand out and make it their career, PA courses are the best way forward.
