There. See? Not everyone is going to like hearing that, but there it is.
Here's what I've learned about internet marketing. It's almost like dieting. Every few months, there's a new best strategy or killer marketing technique.
Now, not all new strategies are bad - in fact it's a good idea to keep your eyes open and adapt to changes in the industry - but don't spend all your time chasing the newest tricks. Focus your efforts and get some results before moving on to master something new.
Compare marketing to dieting. If you were to start this great new diet where you couldn't eat any red meat, and then next week you started a diet where you had to eat lots of red meat, and then the week after, you couldn't eat any meat and so on...
How long do you think your body could keep that up? How effective do you really think it would be to keep jumping around between strategies that could very well be conflicting with one another? Not very.
Instead of jumping from option to option, barely making any real progress, you'd need to choose some fundamental changes in your life and stick with them until they started bringing results. Every time you move on to something new you are effectively starting from scratch.
The exact same process unfolds with people searching for the best internet marketing strategy. It really doesn't make sense to hop from something like pay per click to article marketing, then on to cold calling purchased leads, then switching over to article marketing again, only to then turn around and decide you'd rather focus on posting videos. Jumping around like that doesn't give any of those methods an opportunity to really work. Marketing has to grow, so don't short change yourself.
Consistent, massive action is the ONLY way to get the most out of ANY strategy. This is why there is no magic strategy out there that works for everyone.
We all have different needs when it comes to things like diet and exercise, because we are all unique. The same goes for marketing: unique people require unique strategies.
The essential thing is that you find the one that works for you and master it. Implement it into your business on a consistent basis and you will see consistent results.
Depending on the strategy, it may take some time, but don't give up. Sadly, so many people give up right before they could have been successful. Don't let that be you!
