Synchronizing two computers is very useful these days. Assume a scenario, where you are working on an important project and deadline is knocking at the door. You are working in your office as well as at your home after office hours. How to compile the work? Well, you don't need to spend extra time for this. If two computers are synchronized then automatically the files will be updated. Don't know how to synchronize two computers? The process is very simple and easy. Go through the article and learn how to do this.

The easiest way of synchronizing two computers is to connect the two PCs using a wireless network or a Local Area Network (LAN) cable and then copy the required files directly. But the problem is if you make mistake and drag and drop an old version of a particular folder, you will face serious consequences. If you are using Windows XP operating system, you can consider XCOPY Command. Being one the Windows command line commands, this is quite useful to copy the latest version of the files and folders to the destination. A USB flash drive could be considered in order to carry the copy, from one PC to another. XCOPY [source] [destination] is the syntax of the command. Here you have to state the folder's source and destination path. There are many switches linked to this command.

Do you find it quite annoying to type the command every time you want to synchronize files and folders? If so, then create a batch file to fulfill your requirements. Open a notepad and type the following two lines and save the notepad with the name 'SYNC.CMD' in your Windows folder.

You can also create a shortcut to use the same command. Right click on any empty space on the desktop of your PC and click 'Create Shortcut'. You need to type xcopy "source folder path to be synchronized" [destination drive or removal drive] /d/y/s. Now, name this shortcut export and complete the shortcut setup. You also have to create the same shortcut again but there will be one little change. In the path, type xcopy [removal media] "folder that needs to be recognized" /d /y /Summary: and name the shortcut import. The same should be followed in other PCs as well.

By following this way, you can easily synchronize two computers and make your job easy. There are also many third party applications that could be used for this purpose.
