Dogs are sometimes resistant to teaching since they want to just play and run around most of the time. Training your dogs to learn certain skills such as using dog doors, walking on a leash or using staywell accessories such as bark collars can be a drag at times especially if your dog would not be the one to be taught easily. But training your dogs certain skills may be one of the most important and responsible things you should do as an owner. Here are some tips you can do to make your trainings easier and more fun.

Keep it simple. Dogs are intelligent beings in themselves but you have to keep in mind that their learning curves are slower than humans. When training your dog, be as simple as possible. Learn to pace yourself and not pressure your dogs into learning something that they have a tough time learning. Training your dogs to use dog doors and do their potty businesses outside requires patience from the owner most especially. It is a process that has no real timetable. Sometimes it will be long and hard while other times it can be really easy. In any way, keep your trainings as simple as possible.

It is also advantageous for you to use creative methods in your trainings. It is very important for you and your dog to have fun while you are in the midst of training. Consider it as playtime so that you will not be stressing yourself out and your dog will just think of it as another fun session outside. Training your dogs to use dog doors are simple enough that you need not really be so hard on your dogs about it. Teach them but at the same time give them the space to learn the things on their own. It would add to your dog's self-confidence in the long run.

Also, do not underestimate the power of a treat. Treats are sometimes the most potent tools that an owner can have over his/her dog. Dogs respond to treats in a different way and most of the time, it is positive. Training your pets to use pet doors while giving them food, as a reward for a job done well will make your trainings easier and more fun for your canine friends. You should also keep in mind that once your dog has mastered a skill or have been accustomed to using staywell accessories, it is important to continue the training. A dog can forget just as much as humans can.

Training your dogs even the simplest of skills like using dog doors or other accessories can be a fun and relaxing activity you can share with your pooch. You can incorporate these trainings in your usual bonding sessions to make it feel more natural for your dogs. Never lose your patience with them also. Trust that in time they will get what you are teaching them. Learning is easier if you and your dog are enjoying each other's company while at it.
