In fashion, nothing stays. Something could be a hit one moment and the next thing you know, it’s out the window. One could never really be sure about fashion or say that they have it pinned down to accuracy. However, there are things that remain unchanged and these fashion faux pas are not going away any time soon.
Not Practicing Proper Hygiene

Even if you have the best designer clothes on and the best accessories, you cannot cover up bad hygiene. This doesn’t even have to be said because it is assumed that since you are interested in looking good, you are already practicing proper hygiene. Unclean and untrimmed nails, uncombed hair, dark underarms, stained teeth and bad breath among many things are not going away just because you are decked in the best of clothes. Think of yourself as a canvas and all the dresses and accessories as paint. Even if you use the best colors; if your canvas is not up to par, then you cannot get the best result. Practice good hygiene and achieve the best that you can be.
Wearing Clothes That Don’t Fit
This is probably the most common mistake men and women commit. Pants that are too long, skirts that are too tight or jackets that are too short just do not look good. You want to achieve smooth lines and a smooth silhouette and wearing a dress or anything that is a size too small will just make you bulge in areas that you don’t want. You wouldn’t want to look like an overstuffed turkey now, would you? On the other hand, wearing something that’s a size too big will make you look like you are drowning in mountain of clothing. Plus, isn’t it easier and more comfortable to move around in clothes that fit well?
Not Wearing the Proper Undergarments
Women think that since nobody’s going to see them, undergarments don’t really matter. If you are one of those who think like this, then start changing your mind soon. Think of undergarments as ‘implements’ that shape you and give your clothes the boost that they need. Wearing a bra that’s a size too small will make your assets seem like they are about to pop while wearing something a size too big well not give you the support that you need.
Undergarments were not made to be seen so keep them invisible. Visible panty lines are a big no no and with a lot of undergarments that allow you to go commando, it is not forgivable to still be committing this mistake. Thongs that peek out of your jeans are not sexy, they are tacky. Do not wear dark colored bras when you’re wearing a light colored dress or shirt. It’s the same with wearing slips, try to match the color of the dress with the slip that you’re wearing and make sure that it is the appropriate length. You want to lessen the sheerness of the dress, not attract attention to your slip.
Inappropriate Makeup
Just like there are clothes for different occasions, your makeup should vary as well. Try to make sure that it is appropriate for the event that you are going to.
In the end, fashion may change but it is still governed in the principles of common sense and comfort so you should consider those as well.
