Clean and tidy offices to work better and make a better impression

Working in a tidy and clean place is important for various reasons, no matter what kind of work you do. For many people the office becomes a sort of second house, a place where you spend many hours, a place where you work, but where people often spend their lunch or coffee break. It is not always possible to leave your desk to go and have lunch at home, and the walls of the office, whether you want to or not, become the place where you spend almost the whole day.

Just because the office can be seen as a second house for those who work in it, it is expected to be also able to tell something about these people. Thus the office is seen as a mirror of the people who work in it, and clients and the other people who might enter it get an impression of you, of your work and of the status of your office also from the way your office is kept and organized, exactly as happens with the guests that come to your place for the first time, and who try to understand something more about you having a glance at your furniture, at your rooms and at the way your home in general is kept. Thus it is important that the office is always tidy and clean, not only thanks to the work of cleaning companies, but also with a help from the people that work in that place every day.

Keeping an office tidy and clean is essential, first of all, to give a positive message to the clients and potential clients and to the people who enter the office. It is self-evident that when you see a client it is necessary to immediately make a good impression, and tidy desk, archives and shelves are certainly a good presentation, which moves the people who come to your office to consider you and the company you work for an organized interlocutor, who can do his/her work in a tidy and thorough way, and who can therefore give his/her clients more certitudes. A tidy and clean office is also a more welcoming office, a necessary condition especially if you see people regularly and there might be long queues. It is never pleasant to wait, but to do that in a chaotic place is even less pleasant!

If a clean and tidy office is seen in a positive way by the people who come from outside, and stay in that place just for a few minutes, it is even more important for the people who work in that office to stay in a welcoming place. Working in a tidy place, on a desk where there are neither a scattering of papers nor files stacked in a jumble, certainly helps concentration and reduces the times of work organization. And if the work of a cleaning company is necessary to keep an office clean, also the contribution of all those who work in that place is important to keep it tidy.
