It is your courier's job that what you're sending actually arrives where it should, but unless the damage is proven to be have been caused by external factors such as impact during shipping, you will be the one responsible for your package.

You can buy a carton that is match for the size of the items you are packing when sending things other than documents. You can choose among the different sizes of these cartons, and some will even come with a stamp that informs you how much weight they can carry. Obviously, it's important to choose a box that can carry a weightier weight than the actual fat of what you plan to put in. In the same manner, it is good to buy a parcel that's a bit larger than the actual dimension of what you plan to send. However, avoid getting something too large because this can cause the items move too much. Breakable things should fit just right in to the package
When packing, always use a strong packing tape with a very strong adhesive. A very serious problem you may encounter when sending a parcel through a courier is when the tape breaks or cracks and everything falls out of the envelop or even carton. Remember that any package goes through the normal shipping program and this can cause breakages of the material or tears on your parcels or cartons. Thus, you have to make sure that everything is tightly sealed. Don't forget to mark your package as 'fragile' when sending fragile items for example china or bottles of perfume so your courier knows how to manage it.
