For those who love dogs, moving to a new country will mean that your beloved pet will be with you. After all, they're part of the family, that's why they should be part of your preparations. When getting the animals ready for shipment, there are two things you need to consider: preparing them for the travel and preparing their documents and other requirements so they can enter your new home country without hassle.
Going through shipment is not going to be easy for your dog, but you can make it easier for him to take care of. One of the things the animal may have to deal with is airsickness, therefore help him via this by not giving it any strong food, at least six hours before its flight. The pet may have some trouble with his belly, and it can make a big clutter when it starts throwing up. You may consider giving the animal a sedative so he simply sleeps through the journey. However, you should not achieve this without your vet's jerk. You may also want to make your dog more comfortable by letting it travel with a gnaw bone and something to keep it warm, such as a blanket.

Apart from maintaining your pet comfortable through its flight, you will also need to make a few other preparations. Having an animal enter a new country will need certain documents and other requirements. There are various regulations for each country, but in almost all, you'd need a microchip identification (regular ISO 11784/11785) chip or a skin image on your pet along with a valid certificate showing that the animal continues to be given the required shots within thirty days through departure. Usually, a health certificate indicating the animal has not been ill within days before the departure will also be expected. This will be issued by your own origin country's animal health authorities.
If you have more than one dog, study on the number of animals allowed for shipment per family. You will find also countries that allow dogs up to a certain grow older, and there are breeds that may not be permitted. For example, in France, canines need to be, at least, there years old, and particular breeds such as Staffordshire terrier and the Mastiff cannot be accepted without a pedigree. In some nations, the animals have to come with tags bearing the name and address of the owners. When preparing your dog with regard to shipment, it is important that you research on your location country's specific requirements so as to avoid inconveniences and extra costs.
