Not that many didn’t use Facebook for this purpose anyway but it seems now Facebook has OFFICIALLY adopted a dating app. We’ve all done it (not me, but I saw “we” so that you won’t feel judged). We’ve reconnected with long lost friends on Facebook or maybe even acquired new friends in hopes of sparking a little love connection.
Come on, don’t’ pretend to be oblivious. It starts with a thorough assessment (stalking) of the person of interest’s page, and then progress to a “poke” (a poke being overt flirting, in my opinion) and if/when you are poked back the flood gates open. At least I’m told that this is the way Facebook courting works cause again, I’m no pro.

Well, now you can leave the poking to the amateurs because it seems Facebook has taken the art of internet dating to the next level by eliminating the most awkward aspect of dating altogetherâ€"rejection.
Here’s the scoop: there are two MBA graduates from Columbia University (geniuses if you ask me) Jon Budish, 28, and Tariq Chaudhri, 27 who came up with the idea for this awesome new Facebook application currently being called iWould. The way this application works is that it allows you to scour your friend list and select anywhere from 1 to 10 people from this list that you may be interested in dating. After you’ve generated this list of yours the application cross references your list with the list of your friends who are also using the app. If someone on your list also has you on their list, you’ve gone and stumbled upon a potential love connection.
According to Burdish, “We’re trying to help people connect with someone they’re having a hard time connecting with, someone in your life, that starting a relationship with someone can be hard if you kind of already know them, sometimes that’s the most difficult part of dating.”
The most awesome aspect of this application is that almost completely rules out the potential for rejection. In the case of iWould if the interest isn’t mutual between you and your crush, your crush will never know that there was any interest to begin with. I say it almost completely rules rejection out because I’m thinking that it is still a slight form of rejection if you aren’t a match on your crush’s list. It’s like your crush is saying you weren’t qualified to be their potential interest (not even top 10 worthy) without exactly coming out and saying that.
iWould creates a nice little spin on online dating by only matching friends with friends. The only way this application would work at any notable capacity, however, would be if enough friends of yours joined. If enough of your friends aren’t using the app your likelihood of finding a match is sufficiently reduced. The more the merrier with this, like most, dating apps so encourage all (especially your crush) to join in.
So, whose game from creating a crush list just to see what happens? If it came down to it and I had a moment of desperation, iWould.
