If there is one marketing tool that business owners have been using since time immemorial that would be the business card. Business card printing has served as an important role in the exchange of contact details centuries ago until today. If you are a business owner and you go out of your house without your cards that is like a capital sin in the business world. Customers are everywhere and you have to be ready to share contact details with them any time.

Unfortunately, only a few businesses recognize the importance of business cards. Many simply create an uncreative and exceedingly simple cards thinking that they will only be needed to share and exchange contact details. A lot of cards these days lack the attention-grabbing details and expertise necessary to perk up your business. Although a standard card only has a surface area of 3.5 inches by 2 inches, you can surely think of a creative and unique way to get your message to your target customers.

There are, however, some required information that should be found on your cards such as your name, business name, contact numbers, email, logo, web site, and a short run down of your offerings. . In order for these basic details to be attention-grabbing and compelling, your cards need to have a theme or design that will let you stand out in the crowd. You need to carefully choose the font, color, paper stock, and ink you will use in your cards. But this is only the beginning of the hundred of things you need to consider in creating your business cards.

Creating a unique card:

Uniqueness is the primary consideration in creating effective business cards, but this is often the most difficult and critical part of the design process. The layout, for one, would require careful planning to make sure that your card's design is eye-catching and at the same time relevant to your business. But you would not want a card that is too crowded and confusing. That would only make it easy for people to get rid of your card.

When confused on how best to design your cards, it's best to stick with a simple design. Just place the basics and pick the color and font that best reflect the image you want to convey to your prospective customers.

Make sure that the overall look and appeal of your cards is consistent. Use the same fonts, colors, and logo in all your cards. If you aim for recognition and branding, then you need to think of consistency.

Keep in mind though that you need not overdo the design of your cards. Although an oversized card is eye-catching, this type of card doesn't fit on regular card holders. If that happens, people will just simply put your card in the corner and forget about it completely. You want your cards to be valuable and not annoying, so just stick with the standard size.

Likewise, the choice of card stock is critical. As much as possible don't use a flimsy card as this will not last long and will easily crumple. This will also reflect in your image and make you look unprofessional in front of your customers.

If you are not experienced and knowledgeable in designing business card templates, then just leave the job to the experts. Hire a designer and printer to ensure that your cards are top of the line in representing you in front of people.
