Elements that Affect the Cost of Business Card Printing

Naturally, you would want your business to stand out in the market. You would want people purchasing from you rather than your competition. Perhaps the easiest way to do that today is through the business cards. But, of course, you need your cards to stand out as well. These mini pieces of cards will effectively reflect your outlook and image to your target customers. When done well, they can showcase your business to just about anyone in the market.

But when developing your business cards, your primary consideration would be the cost. It would be your guiding principle creating your cards.

They are your representative

In essence, you hand out business cards to your customers, partners, associates, and also to your casual contacts. The key purpose of your cards is to tell your contacts who you are, what you do, and what you can offer them in an enticing and motivating manner. Although the cost of printing these cards can be low, they still have to be created well and never cut of budget if you want them to represent you effectively.

It's more cost effective if you do your cards on your own or through an online printer. But there are some options you need to consider in creating your cards, which will greatly affect the cost of printing them:

• The logo you will incorporate in your card. Should you design it yourself or hire a designer? Either way, it would cost you to include your logo in your card.
• The format you use will also affect the cost, whether it is one sided or two sided design, or folded cards or not.
• The type of paper will also matter. You have different choices in paper such as matte or glossy, and white or colored paper.
• The colors you use. Using full color printing will obviously cost more than black and white printing.

Including a photo or not?

In designing your business card templates, you need to first determine if you will put a photo in your card or not. The photo will greatly help in making your cards more memorable. You can always pick a photo that best fit the nature of your business. But, of course, the cost of printing will go up.

You actually don't need to spend a lot in your photo. The online market now provides free photos and images that you can use in your cards. MS Word clipart can also be used in your cards. Or you can ask a friend to create an image for you. Once you have the image, you can then put it in your card and print your cards.

The choice of layout

The standard design of a business card is a horizontally shaped card measuring 3.5 inches by 2 inches. Although it is recommended to stick with the standard layout if you want to keep the printing cost to a minimum, it is always accepted to use out of the ordinary card layout. Instead of using horizontal format, you can always use vertical cards to stand out. You can also create bigger cards, but remember that this will affect the cost of your cards.

Using the other side

It's best to take advantage of the back side of your card to print additional information. This is a great way to add value to your card and make it worthy to be kept. Unfortunately, this option will increase the cost of printing. The best advice is to look for printing companies, especially those online that offer discounts in bulk printing.
