Add URL to Google

In the late 90s and early 2000, it would be enough to submit a site to Google, Yahoo, MSN but this is simply not the case anymore. Now, to be at all relevant on Google, you must have a search friendly site and a dynamic sitemap. Google adds and updates new sites to its index each time they crawl the web so you are definitely invited to submit your URL to Google but it can’t stop there. Yes, Google may add you to their index but there is no promise made by Google that all URL’s will be indexed and there are no guarantees about when or if your URL will ever appear.

In order to be effective, you may want to consider creating an account through Google Webmaster Tools. This is a great tool that offers many user benefits. With this tool you can:

* Find out how Google sees your site: This includes information about how Google crawls, ranks and indexes your site and enable you to analyze your data.
* Analyze search data: With this feature you can see how many users found your site in search results and of the people that found your site in the results how many people clicked on your site. (impressions versus clicks)
* Receive alerts in your inbox: Google is great at alerting you if anything is detected on your site in terms of malware and other possible errors that may affect your notability on the search engine.
* Check who links to you: Google efficiently tracks links from all over the web and will show who added a link to your site. This can be an extremely helpful marketing tool when considering cross branding or other joint venture opportunities. The will also help to build visibility and site relevance.
* Tell Google about your site: Through the submission of Sitemaps (a list of pages on your website), Google allows for you to see how many pages they added to the index. Sitemaps help to make sure that all of the pages on your site, including the URLs that may not be discoverable by Google’s normal crawling process, are noticed by the search engine.

Google’s platform (when maneuvered properly) creates boundless possibilities for you to reach more users and grow your audience. By submitting your URL and sitemaps you are opening your business up to the possibilities of not only increasing your visibility but also distributing your content across the World Wide Web.

After you have successfully submitted your URL and Sitemap through Google you may want to consider listing your business in Google Places. Google Places is a free account that allows your verified business information to be found through the search engine. With this feature you may share photos, offers and public responses to engage potential customers. The insight offered by Google Places can be used to make more informed business decisions.

Adding your URL to Google, though vital, is just the first step in many necessary steps that must be taken for your business to be most prevalent on the search engine. If you are looking for assistance in taking these steps, contact Optimum7 today! Call us today at 1-800-736-9618
